District Representatives

State Senator Robert O'Leary

Robert O'Leary has represented Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket in the Massachusetts State Senate since his election in 2000. . In addition to being a Senator he is also a tenured professor of history and politics at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he has taught for nearly thirty years and at Cape Cod Community College where he is an adjunct professor. 

Representative Demetrius Atsalis

Demetrius Atsalis was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1998. He represents the Second Barnstable District.  His legislative agenda is to reform the education funding formula to create a more equitable distribution of funding for his District, to promote economic development, create a fair and affordable homeowners insurance market, to create jobs, to protect health care and prescription medication programs for seniors, to ease traffic congestion, to increase public safety, and to protect the Cape's pristine and fragile environment.

Representative Matt Patrick

Representative Matt Patrick is presently serving his fifth term as State Representative of the 3rd Barnstable District. He is a driving force on the energy front pushing legislation to create energy efficiency standards for many household products. He has been working with House leadership to create legislation to address the rising costs of energy and the effect it is having on our most vulnerable populations now and in the long term. He is also working on new sources of funding for public schools. Representative Patrick is a former Falmouth Selectman, environmental activist and the former Executive Director of Self-Reliance Corporation.
